Fishers of Men
DOMINIQUE FAM
Digital Painting (Limited Reproduction, Canvas with Frame)
42 x 59 cm
2021
On the morning that Jesus met with Peter, he and his friends had come from a long, unfruitful night of fishing in the Sea of Galilee. All their toil and labour amounted to nothing. Disheartened, they were ready to admit defeat and return to shore.
Now Jesus, knowing what Peter and his friends had gone through, asked them to lower their nets once more. “Teacher, we have worked all night and caught nothing. But because You told me to, I will let the net down.” Peter's response was to obey. At that moment, their nets began to overflow with fish and the boats were teeming with a bountiful harvest. While the other fishermen are frantically grabbing fish, we see Peter and Jesus sharing a holy moment. A moment when man meets with God in the flesh and it changes his life forever.
