What are hand-embellishments?
Hand-embellishment is a technique where an artist applies his/her unique touch of detailing to a fine art print, making it look more textured, and closer to an original than a simple art print. It elevates the value of the artwork. As the embellishment is done by hand, every piece will be one-of-a-kind.
For this campaign, Erica will add textures to the fine art prints in acrylic paint, making certain details and highlights of the artwork pop!
Cendol is a popular chilled dessert in hot and humid Southeast Asia, one that brings back fond childhood memories for the artist. It is made with a mountain of shaved ice soaked in coconut milk and palm sugar, with a generous serving of green rice flour jelly and kidney beans on top.
Cendol
MPH Stamford
MPH, a beloved Singaporean bookstore since 1908, holds a special place in the artist's heart. Originally the Methodist Publishing House, this grand Edwardian building witnessed the artist's first job and serves as a reminder of her creative journey.
Ice Kachang is another popular Southeast Asian dessert that the artist enjoyed while growing up in Singapore. It’s a colourful dish consisting of shaved ice, multi-coloured syrups, evaporated milk and treasures of red beans and jelly cubes hidden beneath.
Ice Kachang
Former CHIJ Victoria Street
CHIJMES, a former Catholic convent turned trendy hotspot, boasts stunning architecture and a rich history. Founded in 1854, it served as a haven for abandoned children, offering them education and a brighter future. Today, it thrives as a dining and entertainment destination, with the iconic chapel a sought-after venue for weddings.
The Fullerton Hotel
In this abstract vision, The Fullerton Hotel, a neoclassical icon reborn as a 400-room marvel, radiates brilliance against the city's pulse. Its luminescence dominates, a beacon in the heart of Singapore's financial district.
The Esplanade
Fondly dubbed as the “Durian” by locals for its resemblance to the thorny tropical fruit, The Esplanade is a performing arts centre which sits at the mouth of the historical and picturesque Singapore River. From world-class symphonies to Shakespearean plays to modern dances, the Esplanade has become a quintessential part of the Singapore skyline.
