Follow the Sun

In support of Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf)

Sound of Art, together with our artist Glacy Soh, is proud to present Follow the Sun, a series of 4 paintings in support of Singapore Association of the Deaf (SADeaf).

Follow the Sun was commissioned by Dr Tay Eng Hseon, who donated SGD$35,000 dollars to SADeaf to see these paintings come to life.

These paintings have in turn been gifted by Dr Tay to be displayed at SADeaf’s premises to inspire all of us to Follow the Sun.

Fine Art Reproduction on Canvas for the series is Available.

Although the originals are not for sale, you can bring home a limited edition full-sized reproduction on canvas of any one or all of the works—whether it is Follow the Sun, Community and Connection, Beauty in Imperfection, and Integral Exchange.

Co-Painting with SADeaf Beneficiaries

Most of the children featured in the video come from lower income backgrounds and have multiple disabilities, including deafness, global development delay, bodily deformations and some require a bone marrow transplant.

The sunflower is a symbol of hope. It is our hope that these paintings will bring new life to all who pass through SADeaf.

Hock Sik’s Life Story

Hock Sik (b. 1965) was born deaf in Singapore. Although many difficulties arose as he lived his life, he managed to overcome them with the help of SADeaf and was the first deaf person to graduate from the National University of Singapore.

Follow The Sun was inspired by the ups and downs of Hock Sik’s life.
