As they follow the sun, the sunflowers soon realise a greater purpose may be found in reaching out and serving others. Consider the Ladybug: Sunflowers attract aphids, the prey of the Ladybugs. The Ladybugs depend on the sunflowers for sustenance and shelter, yet pollinating the sunflowers at the same time. One is incomplete without the other. As they mature in life, an integral exchange is formed!

In the same way that Hock Sik has benefited from society, he also has much more to contribute and we too have much to learn from him.

About Follow The Sun

Integral Exchange is the fourth painting out of a series of 4.

Helen Keller says, “Keep your face to the sun and you cannot see the shadows. It's what the sunflowers do.” Inspired by Hock Sik, a deaf person raised in Singapore, and his life story, Sound of Art’s artist Glacy Soh painted 4 panel paintings that capture his life, challenges and aspirations. It is Glacy’s wish that all of the beneficiaries of the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) will smile at the world and stand tall with their heads held high.
