Artist Profile
Pauline Phoon is a Singaporean artist who studied Art in school and has recently revived her love for drawing. Currently a social entrepreneur working with youths, sketching is the quiet space for her to reflect and process. She is drawn to the simplicity of lines with minimal colours, a contrast to our complex world. White ink on dark paper is her current favourite medium. Besides ink, she also uses pencil and acrylic while experimenting with other mediums.
Featured is a series of sketches of historical buildings and structures in Singapore. Largely monochromatic, these sketches evoke a sense of nostalgia, reminding Singaporeans of how far the nation has come. Customisable wordings can also be written below the image upon request, at additional charge.
