This painting is inspired by Psalm 121, a Bible passage close to the artist’s heart, and which he has committed to memory. A lone rider dismounts and settles on a rock for a breather. Gazing across the wide expanse, his eyes take in the eternal mountains, calm sentinels through the ages despite the endless activity around. Refreshed and soul once more at rest, the rider lingers a while and finds strength to continue the journey.
