Winter Willows
BYAMBAJARGAL
70 x 50 cm
Oil on Canvas (Framed)
2022
At the Tuul River south of Ulaanbaatar, frosted willows have stood as sentinels for a thousand frigid winters. Their roots hold back floods and shelter wildlife, and with the return of spring young shoots burst forth in glorious profusion. The artist was impressed after meeting many wise and sprightly elders in Singapore, learning that no matter the season, there is purpose and potential to be found at every stage of existence, by close proximity to the River of Life.
