This painting was done after a brief hiatus. As I took the step to add color to the canvas, the painting slowly evolved with a bold and fresh palette. It brought to mind that much like life, we always need to take the first step, have courage and press on before we can see results unfold. As Plato put it, ‘the beginning is the most important part of the work.
