Inspired by the events of Christmas, "Silent Night" pays homage to Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” painting. On the night of Jesus' birth in Bethlehem, there were no rooms left in the local Inn. His mother Mary had to deliver him in a manger, a feeding trough for horses. At the time, Roman King Herod the Great heard the news that a new king of the Jews was about to be born. Herod feared a threat to his rule and immediately went after Jesus' life. Had Jesus been born in the local Inn, too many people might have known of his whereabouts, which would endanger his life. A closed door could sometimes be protection from harm and lead you to your destiny.
