Exhibition Overview

We all love the joy of receiving gifts at Christmas.

Yet, what if the greatest gift of all isn't wrapped in paper or adorned with a bow?

What if it is a gift that has been given, yet remains unseen?

Though often overlooked, this extraordinary gift is the heart of the Christmas story. Local artist Dominique Fam invites you to explore eight captivating paintings, each offering a unique perspective on the extraordinary events that unfolded centuries ago. As you immerse yourself in this visual journey, you may discover a gift more precious, more timeless than any Christmas gift.

Without any formal training at first, Dominique began drawing and painting as a form of expression for his vivid imagination. Initially intending to pursue a more academic path, he decided to forego traditional college and enrolled in design school after receiving a scholarship to study graphic design when he was sixteen.

Since a picture speaks a thousand words, Dominique often approaches each work as a translation from what he sees in his mind to what a viewer can interact with visually. Because of this, he works in a hyper-realistic style. His subjects range from ‘slice-of-life scenes’ to more philosophical and religious concepts.

In addition to commercial work with branding/advertising agencies, Dominique has done numerous commissioned pieces such as digital paintings/prints. He has also written and illustrated comic books, graphic novels, as well as picture books.

Dominique is a Singapore-based illustrator who has been drawing for as long as he can remember.
